one cliché

we need a new cliché
no more roses red or violets blue
no paths divergent in some snowy wood
no lovebirds paired
no dancing flames twisting together
we are not two beings
joined and merged and entwined together
we cannot count the ways we are actually one
one heart, one soul
one body, split for all practical purposes in two
but shared... joined and merged and entwined together
we are one being
one flame dancing in the darkness
one bird flying wherever we can
one path through a sunlit wood
one rose, one violet, one color
one cliché
