she wonders about him. he's kinda cute. and he seems nice. but, he's poor. what could her friends think? not only is he poor, but he's practically a nerd, too smart to have any friends, too smart to have anyone who'll even talk to him. WHAT would her friends think?

does it matter, she asks herself every time she sees him in the hall, a lonely outcast among a crowd of cliques and gangs. does it matter what her friends think? the answer, unfortunately for the lost possibilities, is always the same. of course, it matters what her friends think. without her friends, who would she be? no matter how great her life could be with him in it, she just can't throw away her self to have that. she can't trade her friends for him.

so, she picks another boy, a popular boy.
